Magic villages of Spain

Orce is one of the villages labeled Magic Villages of Spain, a recognition which is a guarantee of quality for tourism. An attractiveness that goes through its architecture, its history, its investment in promoting and organizing its activities around tourism. Several categories show different criteria rewarded by the jury. Orce wins for the 2022 season the award in the "Heritage enhancement" category. Endowed of many archaeological sites, the town has been able to highlight the richness of its discoveries. This is how the Josep Gibert Museum was built in 2015 to house all of its treasures. Each year many archaeologists invest the archaeological sites for several months. Regularly press articles highlight what archaeologists manage to bring out of the earth.
Also, Orce has managed to conserve its works, its castle, its Troglodyte houses which could date back to the 7th century. When Spain was jostled by the Moors and Berbers invasion which lasted until the 15th century.  More...
